Death of Person Who Said ‘I am the King’s Son’ in Spain, Albert Sola, 66, who claimed to be the illegitimate child of former King of Spain, Juan Carlos, died suspiciously in a bar he went to over the weekend.
‘He couldn’t take a sip of his drink’
Claiming to be one of the illegitimate children of the former King of Spain, Juan Carlos, 66-year-old Albert Sola collapsed after placing his order at the bar he went to with his friend at the weekend.
Describing the event, the eyewitness said, ‘He came with a friend, gave an order. As he walked towards the table, he suddenly collapsed to the ground. He didn’t even have a chance to take a sip of the drink in his hand,’ he said.
Although news sources reported that Sola’s death was caused by natural sources, the autopsy report has not been published yet.
Albert Sola, a waiter in the Spanish town of La Bisbal d’Emporda, claimed to be the son of the country’s previous king, Juan Carlos I. Sola, who became famous in the town for his long struggle for ‘paternity’ and his resemblance to the old king, told his story to the New York Times.
Born 65 years ago during the Spanish dictator Franco, where births outside of wedlock were not welcome, and lost her mother as a child, Sola was given up for adoption to a family living in Barcelona.
