How can you easily save energy and money in the kitchen?
If we don’t start living more economically, we will all face high reimbursements for electricity. Here we explain energy-saving tips for the kitchen.
What can we do as consumers? Save electricity!
With the use of circulating air (instead of upper and lower heating), energy savings of 25 to 40 percent can be achieved. The reason: The hot air is better distributed in the oven. You can also put several trays at the same time. And: You can save up to 20 percent on energy costs if you do it without preheating.
It is the most energy efficient induction cooker. The heat is right there, so there is no need for heating time like with other stoves. But they are still not cheap. Therefore: If you are using a ceramic hob, you should stick with it.

4) Pressure cookers
A pressure cooker or pressure cooker saves about 50 percent of time and energy. It is particularly beneficial for potatoes as well as dishes that take longer to cook, such as soups or goulash. Therefore, choose a refrigerator and freezer as small as possible. 100 to 160 liters of usable capacity is sufficient for one or two people, you need an additional 50 liters for each additional person. With the freezer, you can save 20 to 30 percent on electricity costs if it’s suitable for the size of the house.

When it comes to the refrigerator, it doesn’t mean the temperature goes down, it means the temperature rises! Seven degrees Celsius is enough in the refrigerator, -18 degrees is enough in the freezer. Every degree consumes more electricity unnecessarily. The temperature can be monitored with a refrigerator thermometer.
3) Replace device
A new refrigerator can save up to 200 kilowatt-hours per year, so it should be replaced after 15 years at the latest. The following applies to new purchases: Avoid zero-degree areas that consume a lot of electricity and opt for dual-circuit combinations for cooling and freezing. So you can close the fridge while on vacation without jeopardizing frozen food. Hint: Consumption can be determined with an ammeter.

Use short or economical programmes, always fully load the dishwasher and do not pre-wash dishes and cutlery. Running the dishwasher at 65 degrees once a month is sufficient to be hygienically clean and to avoid malfunctions caused by oil and other residues.
2) Change the device
The dishwasher should also be replaced after twelve or at the latest 15 years. New devices use both less electricity and less water. As with the refrigerator, the size of the appliance must be adapted to the size of the house – a smaller appliance (45 cm wide) is usually sufficient for a house of one to two people.
